The final paper is written in Italian or foreign language, in agreement with the supervisor.
The title of the final paper written in a foreign language must be defined both in Italian and in the foreign language, and both formulations must be stated on the header of the final paper itself.
The layout of the text should have the following characteristics:
- Times New Roman font (or similar)
- font size: 12 points
- line spacing no greater than 1.5
- A4 page size
- distances from the sheet margins of not less than 2 cm and not more than 3 cm.

Credits
The writing of the final paper entitles the student to the number of educational credits defined by the regulations of the courses of study. It is possible to accompany the writing of the final paper with a structured in-depth activity coordinated by the supervisor. Credits (1 CFU for every 25 hours of structured activity) can be requested for this work aimed at the final paper. These credits will be recognized through resolutions of the Departmental Council adopting a procedure similar to that followed for the recognition of internship credits. Please note that these additional credits do not entitle the student to additional marks on the final grade.
Rapporteur (and possible co-rapporteur)
Tenured professors, researchers and contracted professors may serve as rapporteurs. The latter may be rapporteur only if a tenured professor is co-rapporteur: this ensures that the student has continuity of assistance in the writing of his or her paper even in the event that the work is still in progress when the lecturer's contract expires.
For bachelor's degrees, where necessary, the supervisor, after assigning the topic, identifies a co-rapporteur and communicates the name of the co-rapporteur to the student. The student makes contact with the co-rapporteur and defines with him/her the modalities of intervention. The co-rapporteur may make a judgment when the work is completed (i.e., reads the paper when it is final).
Law on plagiarism or false attribution of another's work
Students are reminded that copying in whole or in part from other texts (printed or found on the web) by making the copied parts appear as one's own is tantamount to plagiarism or false attribution of someone else's work, and that it is (among other things) a criminal offense (Law No. 475 / 1925), as well as a form of fraud against the Speaker and other students and undergraduates.
In cases of established plagiarism, the law provides, in addition to other penalties, for the cancellation of the title (here, of Degree) wrongfully obtained.
In case of uncertainties, on how to cite others' works and the most appropriate writing style, ask the Speaker.
Acknowledgements
In the electronic copies of the final papers, any thanks may be included only for very special cases, if, for example, some external, institutional figure has given the thesis student access to documents or funds or information that would otherwise be difficult to find.
In all other cases, please do not put thank-you notes, either for the faculty speakers or for family members (such thank-you notes may of course be included in the candidate's personal copy).

- The length of the text should be at least around 40,000 characters-excluding spaces and bibliography-which is equivalent to the average size of a research paper in many disciplines.
- The text should be divided into sections numbered and/or bearing a title.
- The topic must be an in-depth study of topics studied in the degree program and of such a nature that it can be treated decently in the space provided.
- The topic should be agreed with the lecturer.
- The choice must be on a circumscribed topic for further study. It should not be a summary from a single text.
- It can build on the internship experience, as is possible now.
- The proof must be accompanied by two short summaries (maximum 2,000 characters), one in Italian and the other in English, in which the objectives, materials and methods used, and the results of the work done are stated.
- Abstracts in Italian and English should be placed at the beginning of the work (after the title page and before the Table of Contents), on unnumbered pages.
The order of the parts is therefore as follows:
- Title page (unnumbered page)
- Summaries (unnumbered pages)
- Table of contents or table of contents (unnumbered pages)
- Introduction and other chapters/paragraphs (numbered pages)
- Bibliography (numbered pages)

The final grade is expressed in hundredths with possible addition of honors. The final grade is derived from the sum of two factors:
1) the score based on the PONDERED average of the exams taken in the course of study;
2) the score assigned to the final exam.
The chair of the judging committee is responsible for ensuring the utmost rigor in the application of the scoring criteria to the final test; below is the detail of the points that can be awarded:
Band A: 5 points (excellence band) papers that demonstrate excellent critical orientation and work organization skills, including aspects of originality.
Band B: 4 points papers that demonstrate excellent critical orientation and work organization skills.
Band C: 2-3 points papers that meet the compilative criteria and demonstrate good critical orientation and work organization skills.
Band D: 0-1 points processed mediocre and barely sufficient.
