The Erasmus+ Program for Traineeship offers students the opportunity to complete traineeships lasting from two to twelve months at companies, training centers, and research institutions (excluding European institutions or organizations that manage European programs) located in one of the participating countries. Erasmus students have the opportunity to acquire specialized skills and a better understanding of the socio-economic culture of the host country. Selection for the program is conducted through a university-wide application procedure.
Students can complete their internship abroad through the Erasmus+ for Traineeship program. To participate, they need to apply through the call for applications published by the International Relations Office.
The Department’s Internationalization Committee evaluates applications based on the following criteria and weightings:
- Letter of Acceptance from the Company – 30%
- Motivation and Goals – Up to 20%
- Feasibility of the Mobility Project (if defined) – Up to 15%
- Academic Record/CV – Up to 15%
- Language Skills – Up to 10%
- Previous International Experience – Up to 10%
Priority is given to students in their final years, considering the credits they have earned, and to those who have not previously completed a credit-bearing internship.
Selection is done through a questionnaire. Failure to complete the questionnaire on time will result in exclusion from the program.
All eligible students will have Erasmus+ status and a number of scholarships will also be available.
Students must find the company on their own, possibly using departmental contacts or the Europe Direct service of the Municipality of Modena.
Eligible organizations include any public or private body involved in the labour market, education, training, youth, research, and innovation. Non-eligible organizations are EU institutions and agencies managing EU programs.
Students should contact the International Relations Office to verify the eligibility of the organization.
Once selected, to start the internship, the student must:
- Find a company willing to host them, make arrangements, and request a letter of acceptance (if not already provided during application).
- Complete the learning agreement provided by the International Relations Office, have it signed by both themselves and the company, and then send it to Francesca Bergamini.
- Contact Professor Donatella Malavasi, who will act as the academic supervisor.
- Contact the Department’s internship office (stage.dslc@unimore.it) for further steps.
At the end of the internship, the student must send their attendance sheet and the completion-of-Traineeship form to the academic supervisor by email. The supervisor will finalize the form with credits and send it to the Department Board (“Giunta di Dipartimento”) for validation.
Credit recognition will be approved at the Department Board meeting following the submission of the forms. The minutes will be sent from the Department’s Administrative Office to the Student Services Office, which will update the credits in the student’s records (libretto).
Curricular internships (which earn credits) can also be done abroad. Students interested in starting an internship abroad should follow these steps:
- Find a company willing to host the internship, possibly using departmental contacts.
- Request a letter of acceptance from the company.
- Identify and contact a Department faculty member who will act as the academic supervisor.
- Contact the Department’s internship office (stage.dslc@unimore.it) to complete the agreement and training project.
